This post-Lesney model was introduced in 1983. A small initial production run of this model had been issued with red labels and wheels with a black chassis and front mudguards. This model can be found fitted with three different types of 'Schweppes' labels.

Labels with red 'Schweppes' artwork had been produced but rejected and although these were not supposed to be issued a considerable quantity went to Hamleys Toy Shop in London, England.
The colour was changed to black and these labels were fitted to the greater majority of models.
When the Schweppes trademark owners were shown the black and white labels they were disappointed with the rather drab appearance and thought it was not authentic. A new label, with the advertising in white and yellow, was designed and was about twice the height of the originals which was accepted by Schweppes.
However this meant that to accommodate the larger sized label the upper hand rails had to be redesigned to allow the use of a larger side hoarding. This new, single hand rail became standard for all subsequent Y23 Omnibus models.
